Wetterae
Elevations can only be granted by the 1st peer of the tianz - the Kanterk, Sh'Seren, S'Nehr.
Death of the incumbent title holder is the most common route of elevation.
The courtesy titles available to the sons of a Title depend on the number of ranks below the encumbent.
The Kanterk, Sh'Seren, S'Nehr has 7 courtesy titles. Should there be more than VII sons, only the VII oldest can have a courtesy title.
At the other end of the scale a Maarona does not have any available courtesy titles.
Some LXV cycles prior to the events occurring in the Primarl's Heir the Sh'Seren Ffalla had XII sons:
| Sons by Order | Birth Name | Courtesy title | Place of Courtesy Title |
| Heir | Ast | Seren | Sotomere (Province 1) |
| II | Feyn | Serenna | Llema (Province II) |
| III | Pret | Primarl | Llemadaran (Capital of Ffalla) |
| IV | Õin | Arla | Mankeyne (Coastal port) |
| V | Õein | Arlja | Tren (mining town) |
| VI | Õaan | Maaro | Bodarn (large border fortress) |
| VII | Õain | Maarona | Kamreth (border fortress) |
| VIII | Õn, Õnn, Õnne | None |
By 3425, despite the tragic deaths of the Sh'Seren Ffalla and his three eldest sons when a pre-NightSky dam on the Malatanike River burst, Õin had only been elevated I rank.
As the 1st peer of the Wetterae, Õin was able to declare the titles of Sh'Seren, Seren and Serena vacant for elevations.
